  • Present-May 2024 Software Engineer · H-E-B Streaming Oracle into BigQuery, and the services reading from it — pricing, promotions, forecasting.
    • Built the Oracle-to-BigQuery streaming pipeline where none existed, replacing batch extraction that ran over an hour or failed outright. Source-side partitioning and incremental loads brought it to roughly 20 minutes with duplicate records eliminated.
    • Keep tables ranging from millions to hundreds of millions of rows in sync between operational and analytical systems.
    • Own backend services for products, pricing, promotions, and demand forecasting, used by store and product managers across every H-E-B store in Texas.
    • Cut service response times from minutes to 20–50ms by designing precomputed BigQuery views and tables in place of on-demand queries.
  • May 2024-Jan 2021 Software Engineer · General Motors Java, Akka, and Apache Pulsar carrying telemetry for over 13 million vehicles.
    • Worked on data streaming with Java, Akka, and Apache Pulsar, supporting communication for over 13 million vehicles.
    • Implemented Redis caching over Cassandra to cut latency across microservices, with invalidation to prevent stale reads.
    • Built Azure CI/CD pipelines with Kubernetes and Docker, increasing delivery efficiency by 5%.
    • Integrated Spring Boot streaming features so cross-functional teams could test end to end, cutting time to production readiness by 25%.
    • Trained team members on incident handling for Linux production servers, contributing to four nines of operational availability.
    • Collaborated on Ubuntu Linux infrastructure creation and migration, and coached junior developers through day-to-day operations.
  • Jan 2021-Oct 2020 Web Developer · UCI Medical Center Radiology department website on PHP and WordPress.
    • Maintained and upgraded the Radiology department website using PHP and WordPress.
